estate planning
Joe drafts Wills, Trusts, and Power of Attorneys to align with the objectives of his clients. Estate plans should be tailored to each individual client's unique family dynamics. Given the complexities of modern financial investments, clients should create comprehensive estate plans that will address the control and transition of all of their assets in the most efficient and cost effective manner. Joe's experience both as a practitioner as well as an officer of a bank give him the unique ability to understand how to best plan for any scenario.
Guardianship and conversatorship
Joe works with clients to appoint legal guardians and conservators for minors and incompetent adults. Joe also assists guardians and conservators with ongoing duties, including administrative requirements such as submitting annual reports to court.
PROBATE AND TRUST ADMINISTRATION
Joe assists clients in their duties as administrators of estates and trusts. Most clients do not have experience with a complex process that can last many months, often during difficult personal times or when personal work expectations consume their 9-5 availability. Joe works with families to ensure that all interested parties remain informed and to address disputes or controversies that may arise.
Property transactions and escrow
Joe represents buyers and sellers in real estate transactions and complex personal property transactions. Joe reviews and prepares purchase agreements in anticipation of a transaction, and reviews and prepares the necessary documents to complete a sale of real estate. Joe advises and represents clients in transactions involving escrow, and also can act as an escrow agent for two represented parties.
Taxation
Joe advises clients on the tax consequences of personal and business transactions. In addition, Joe prepares tax returns for individuals as well as fiduciaries.
Business entity formation and corporate transactions
Joe assists clients in forming corporate entities for their business ventures, including organizational articles, by-laws, and shareholder agreements, such as buy-sell agreements and asset or stock purchase agreements.
